Our weekend in the hospital

On Saturday morning Malia was acting really lethargic, and just like she wasn't feeling well so we took her to the dr. They did a blood test on her and her white blood cells were really high so we went to the ER and got admitted to the pediatric unit of Evergreen Hospital. We couldn't have asked for better care, the nurses were great. We hope to never go back to that department again, but we were treated very well during our stay. Turns out she has streptococcus pneumoniae, it's a blood infection, she had IV antibiotics and we brought some oral antibiotics home so that combo will get rid of the infection.

PlayingOne of our nurses; they had to suit up to come in our room because we were in "quarantine" until they could figure out exactly what was wrong with her. She was distracted by Sesame Street, it's one of the few times she sat still all weekend.Playing on the adjustable bed, this was great entertainment since she couldn't go any further than her crib or the bed because that was as far as her IV would reach, so adjusting it around made it a lot more fun. Curious face:Mad face: Sad face: Getting her IV out, she thought they were there to poke at her more, but was happy once she realized that they were actually helping her. It's so nice that she is able to run around and is happy again.
